Southwire’s President and CEO Rich Stinson shares the company’s story with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross during the tour.

Southwire’s Kentucky Plant is a vital contributor to our Power Systems & Solutions business, housing Southwire’s only aluminum rod mill and manufacturing many aluminum cable products. We currently have nearly 400 employees who build upon the facility’s nearly 50-year legacy as we work each day to develop solutions that meet the needs of our energy customers.

“Hosting Secretary Ross and his team today at our Kentucky Plant was an honor,” said Rich Stinson. “Southwire is a leader in our industry, and we are proud of our strong legacy in Hawesville. We’re excited to have had the opportunity to share our company’s story with the Secretary, as we remain committed to manufacturing in Kentucky and in all of our facilities across the nation.”

The Secretary and his team had the opportunity to tour the facility and have meaningful conversations with company leadership and plant employees about the importance of and the administration’s commitment to strengthening, sustaining and growing manufacturing in the United States.

“I was glad to visit a great American manufacturer like Southwire today,” said Secretary Ross. “It was heartwarming to meet workers who have been helped by President Trump’s efforts to create a level playing field for American workers. This is what it’s all about.”
